Electro-Optical Imaging Successfully Demonstrates Airspace Protection System

04 August 2008

Electro-Optical Imaging, Inc., a Melbourne, Florida based company, has successfully developed and deployed a turnkey, transportable tracking system that provides the ability to acquire, track and deter a diverse array of airborne targets.

The system was developed for General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products in support of their Counter-ManPADS Airspace Protection System (CMAPS) program to provide precision control of its various optical sensors, as well as the pedestal and the on-board countermeasure. During live-fire testing at NSWC, China Lake, CA, the CMAPS system successfully demonstrated its detection, tracking and targeting of UAVs, as well as other airborne targets.

E-O Imaging has a proven history of providing innovative tracker and tracking system solutions from board level designs through fully integrated turnkey systems. Capabilities include: FPGA design, sensor calibration and fusion, algorithm development, including multi-target and clutter rejection algorithms, packaging, servo control, and data analysis.
