Saab has secured a contract worth $146.73m to upgrade the Swedish Navy's Gävle-class corvettes HMS Gävle and HMS Sundsvall.
The deal was awarded by the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration and includes the modification, upgrade and general inspection of the two corvettes

The US Marine Corps System Command has awarded a $93m technical support services contract to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation.
Northrop Grumman will provide software maintenance, a tactical service-oriented architecture system, and software technical and development support of the command and control personal computer under the arrangement.
The deal has a base period of six months and an ordering period of four years.
Gravois Aluminum Boats LLC, doing business as Metal Shark Boats, has won a $16.19m contract from the US Naval Sea Systems Command to build 13 near-coastal patrol vessels (NCPV).
The deal also covers the delivery of diagnostic equipment, NCPV testing, electro-optical infrared sensors, and in-country reactivation and crew familiarisation.
The contracted vessels will be used by the US Southern Command partner nations, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Honduras.
Leidos Innovations Corporation has been awarded a contract modification worth $27.44m by the US Naval Sea Systems to provide support services for the AN / SQQ-89A(V)15 surface ship undersea warfare combat system through to August 2018.
The agreement includes material travel, direct cost for integrated logistic support and other direct costs, core waterfront support, and installation of the AN / SQQ-89A(V)15 system.
The Indian Navy has awarded a contract to The Boeing Company to support the P-8I maritime patrol aircraft.
Boeing will provide engineering, support and planning, material support, and field and logistics service representatives to the Indian Navy’s fleet of P-8I aircraft until October 2017 under the deal.
