Polaris Government and Defense has secured a contract from the US Marine Corps (USMC) for the delivery of more than 100 additional diesel MRZR (MRZR D) utility task vehicles (UTVs).
The new MRZR D vehicles will help enhance the USMC's operational capabilities.
The current project follows successful delivery and fielding of the MRZR UTVs to the USMC infantry regiments earlier this year.
Polaris Government and Defense manager Joaquin Salas said: "MRZR Ds support requirements in the Marine Corps for an internally transportable vehicle that is highly mobile and modular.
"Marines can quickly configure the lightweight and open-concept MRZR D depending on the required mission."
Delivery of the vehicles is slated to be completed by the end of this year.
The MRZR D is a highly capable, low-cost vehicle that lightens the load and enhances agility across the marine force.
Salas added: "The two and four seat MRZR Ds can be quickly internally transported by V-22 and larger helicopters, allowing the vehicles to support Marine forces in almost any location."
The MRZR is a flexible and modular platform that can support a wide range of uses uch as rapid personnel deployment, command and control, casualty evacuation, and supply transport missions.
The UTVs are affordable, reliable and can be easily maintained throughout their lifecycle with a commercial supply chain and the Polaris global network.
