Integris has secured a contract to enhance ballistic protection for the UK Royal Navy’s Type 45 Destroyer, also known as the Daring class, as part of their maintenance programme.
The first order, which was confirmed in October 2024, will see Integris supply new and replacement ballistic protection systems, covering design, templating, and installation.
In partnership with BAE Systems over nearly two years, Integris will apply its technological expertise to seamlessly integrate these defences into the warship’s structure.
The Daring class is made up of six Type 45 destroyers – HMS Daring, Dauntless, Diamond, Dragon, Defender, and Duncan, specifically designed for anti-aircraft and anti-missile defence operations.
The vessels feature advanced radar systems that can detect and neutralise enemy targets from afar, safeguarding the fleet against airborne threats.
These destroyers are equipped with the fully integrated communications system (FICS45), enabling voice and data communications.
