Force Protection has received a contract from the US Marine Corps for Buffalo mine-protected clearance vehicles (MPCV).

The $46.6m foreign military sale (FMS) will provide for 40 programme of record (POR) vehicles that will be used in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Force Protection COO Randy Hutcherson said the vehicles will help in route clearance for coalition troops from enemy traps.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Ladson, South Carolina, US, and is expected to be completed by 30 September 2011.
