Under the $502m contracts, the selected company will maintain the navy’s computing network systems for the next seven years until the new Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Services programme is operational.
The contract will also cover the procurement of common computing environment components, integrated logistics support, configuration management, test and evaluation, quality assurance and installation support.
If selected, Lockheed Martin will complete the task orders from 2010 through to 2017, including a four-year option period.
The contracts will be awarded to the successful contender under the common afloat local area network infrastructure (CALI), which provides command, control, computing, communication and intelligence support for US Navy ships and submarines.
Lockheed Martin has partnered with small businesses in San Diego, including Epsilon Systems, System Technology and BlueTech, for the CALI programme.
