The US Navy has awarded a $43.5m contract to Technical Automation Services Company (TASC) to support the US Marine Corps topographic production capability (TPC) system.

Under the contract the company will render sustainment, systems engineering, integration, production, fielding and logistics support for the TPC system.

The system is transportable, highly mobile, modularised network of systems which enables the commander to perform real-time control, coordination, and direction of the marine air ground task force’s (MAGTF) geospatial intelligence (GEOINT).

TPC is the only one with in-built GEOINT system intended for data acquisition, manipulation, analysis and dissemination.

It provides the capability to broadcast all-source GEOINT information as an initiation for the MAGTF’s situational awareness.

The system also generates the ability to access GEOINT from intelligence agencies like National Geospatial Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency and Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA).

The work is expected to be complete by July 2014, with work taking place at Stafford in Virginia.
