ASC has agreed to provide a range of services for Saab’s A26 submarine programme.

Under the agreement, ASC will provide design and engineering services.

The A26 programme involves the construction and delivery of two submarines to the Royal Swedish Navy.

Sikorsky has received a $717m contract to deliver support, supply and logistics services for the US Marine Corps (USMC) and US Navy helicopters.

Under the four-year contract, the company will provide repair, upgrades, obsolescence mitigation, spare parts, and asset management services for the CH-53E Super Stallion and MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopters.

CH-53E Super Stallion and MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopters are operated by the USMC and the US Navy respectively.

Spanish shipbuilder Freire has awarded a contract to Rolls-Royce for the supply of ship design and equipment systems for a new oceanographic research vessel.

The vessel will be used by Belgian marine scientific community for carrying out advanced sea research for fisheries, biology, sedimentology, chemistry, oceanography, and meteorology.

Rolls-Royce will provide the ship design and main propulsion system, along with thrusters, power electric systems, and steering solutions.

The company will also deliver integrated propulsion and manoeuvring system, propulsion control system, and a unified bridge and dynamic positioning (DP) system for the IMO polar code-compliant vessel.

The ship will be constructed at Freires shipyard in Vigo, Spain, with delivery due by the end of 2020.

US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded a $960m contract to Millennium Corp to provide management support services for the programme executive offices of NAVAIR managed programmes.

Millennium Corp will provide strategic planning, coordination, integration and implementation of programme activities and administrative services, as part of the five-year contract.

It will also be responsible for leading and facilitating activities for the NAVAIR managed programmes and programme executive offices.

Contractual work will be carried out at NAVAIR Patuxent River, Maryland.

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has secured a $365.73m contract for the supply of Aegis Weapon System K2 baselines to Republic of Korea Navy DDGs.

The company will be responsible for the installation, testing and delivery of Aegis Combat System K2 baselines on three DDGs of the Republic of Korea Navy, as part of a foreign military sales (FMS) programme of the US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

The contract also covers staging and integrated logistics support services required for the installation.

Lockheed Martin will carry out system engineering and computer programme development, ship integration and testing, and programme management. It will also provide technical manuals and scheduled maintenance system documents.

Works will be performed in New Jersey, Washington and South Korea, until July 2026.
