The US Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic has awarded a contract to General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) to provide cyber mission engineering support.

The multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, which has a shared ceiling of $898m, comprises a five-year base period, with one two-year option period, and one six-month option-to-extend-services option period.

Under the contract, GDIT will compete for individual task orders to provide solutions to meet the warfighting needs of the Navy and Marine Corps.

The company will provide next-generation electronic warfare capabilities for the protection of warfighters from technological threats.

The company will support Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic through the provision of engineering and technical services in support of national security mission capabilities.

The cyber mission engineering services provided under the contract include research, development, test, evaluation, production and fielding for command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, information operations, identity operations, enterprise information services and space capabilities.

In a separate development, GD National Steel and Shipbuilding won a $91.47m modification contract to perform fiscal 2019 dry-docking planned incremental availability for Nimitz-class supercarrier USS George HW Bush.

The scope of the contract includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications to modernise the ship’s military and technical capabilities. Work is anticipated to be completed by February 2021.
