KBR has secured two task orders worth a total of $140m to support engineering and rapid prototyping efforts for the US Navy.
The cost-plus-fixed-fee task orders were awarded by the US Air Force (USAF) Installation Contracting Agency (AFICA) under the Department of Defense Information (DoD) Analysis Center’s (IAC) multiple-award contract.
Since 2005, KBR has been supporting various missions of the DoD research and development community through several DoD IAC contracts.
KBR recently won a task order to provide engineering, logistics and reliability analysis to the Naval Air Systems Command’s (NAVAIR) F/A-18 and EA-18G Programme Office (PMA-265).
Under this $76.4m valued order, the company will work with PMA-265 to increase aircraft platform, systems reliability and availability. This order is also expected to reduce the total ownership cost.
The order is expected to increase the service life of the F/A-18C/D Hornet, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, and EA-18G Growler aircraft.
