The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 1.38% in April 2021 compared with March 2021.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 24.69% share in April 2021, recording decrease of 0.75% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 9.77% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US aerospace, defence & security industry during April 2021 over March 2021.
Raytheon Technologies posted 992 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a drop of 22.74% over the previous month, followed by Leidos Holdings with 776 jobs and a 9.03% drop. General Dynamics with 611 IT jobs and Lockheed Martin with 532 jobs, recorded a 7.38% growth and a 9.92% increase, respectively, while Northrop Grumman recorded a 17.49% decline with 349 job postings during April 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.95%, up by 48.95% from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.9% share, a decline of 46.59% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.57% share, down 47.85% over March 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.58%, recording a month-on-month decline of 22.86%.
