Arcline Investment Management’s portfolio company Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) has signed a licencing agreement with an Estonian private company DECK Marine Systems.
With this deal, FMD plans to expand its capabilities to serve uncrewed marine vehicles (UXV).
Under the latest agreement, both the companies will work together to develop an intelligent launch and recovery system (LARS) that will be used with UXVs.
FMD chief commercial officer Jay McFadyen said: “As the navy develops and tests more uncrewed vehicle technologies, FMD remains committed to providing capabilities and support necessary for expanding reach and scope of our fleet.
“The expanded capabilities offered through our licensing agreement with DECK, combined with our existing products and services from our Welin Lambie business unit, strengthens our ability to help propel US maritime defence into the future.”
The agreement will provide an exclusive licence to FMD for selling and servicing DECK’s LARS, instrument deployment units (IDUs) and winches to government customers across the UK, Australia, Canada and the US.

In addition, DECK can utilise FMD’s turnkey services at six strategically located service centres.
The agreement will also enable DECK to expand its presence among marine defence customers.
DECK Marine Systems CEO Dmitri Jekimov said: “Precision and durability are essential for maritime military success, and we believe that makes DECK’s proven technology solutions an ideal fit to support Navy’s UXV programmes.
