Lockheed Martin Global Inc has secured a contract modification worth $158.5m to upgrade the Phase 2 mission systems on eight German P-3C aircraft under a foreign military sales programme.
The deal will see the contractor supply new mission and acoustic system avionics, which will incorporate German-specific components.
The contract is scheduled to run through May 2022 and was awarded by the US Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.
A possible foreign military sale of follow-on technical support (FOTS) to the Iraq Ministry of Defence worth roughly $150m has been approved by the US State Department.
The sale includes the delivery of engineering and logistics support, spare and repair parts, test equipment and other related services to various US-origin Navy vessels and a ship repair facility in Iraq.
