Kraken Sonar Systems has signed a teaming agreement with international defence contractor Atlas Elektronik to provide the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) with an optimal solution for its Remote Mine Disposal System (RMDS).

In addition to the RMDS programme, Kraken Sonar Systems has also collaborated with Atlas Elektronik to deliver its military grade Katfish towed sonar systems to an Asian navy, as part of a major mine-countermeasures procurement programme.

Atlas Elektronik chief executive officer Dr Jens Bodo Koch said: “We are pleased to announce our cooperation with Kraken.

Kraken Sonar Systems announced last February that it will deliver its Katfish towed sonar system for Elbit System's new Seagull unmanned surface vehicle (USV) as part of a separate development.
