Notably, Architecture and Engineering Occupations jobs accounted for a 28% share of the global aerospace, defence and security industry’s batteries-related total new job postings in Q3 2023, up 13% over the prior quarter.
Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive batteries-related hiring activity
Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 28%, emerged as the top batteries-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings rising by 13% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Mathematical Occupations came in second with a share of 8% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 32% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent batteries roles include Management Occupations with an 8% share in Q3 2023, Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security industry accounted for 58% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were AWE Management, Lilium, Textron, Lockheed Martin, and Boeing. Together they accounted for a combined share of 58% of all batteries-related new jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.
AWE Management posted 231 batteries-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Lilium 70 jobs, Textron 59 jobs, Lockheed Martin 33 jobs, and Boeing 22 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 38.41% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of batteries-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 38.41% followed by the UK (32.26%) and Germany (13.55%). The share represented by the US was nine percentage points lower than the 47.09% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
