Australia’s planned acquisition of naval nuclear propulsion technology for its AUKUS attack submarines had triggered “strong concern in the international community”, according to Beijing.
The aim is to nearly double Javelin All Up Round production from 2,100 Javelins to 3,960 per year by late 2026.
The event, which took place in July, comes under the auspices of AUKUS Pillar II – the advanced capabilities segment of the trilateral alliance.
Switchblade is designed to engage stationary and moving targets in hostile environments, while reducing collateral damage.
The project, part of the Fiscal Year 2024 Depot Modernisation Period, is expected to be completed by April 2026.
