Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 12.6% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 44.1% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.9% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 1.95% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.96% in September 2022, registering a 220% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 17.94% share, an increase of 20.51% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 11.83%, registering a 244.44% rise from August 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.25%, up 26.67% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 160.23% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Rheinmetall posted 120 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 900% over the previous month, followed by Hensoldt with 38 jobs and a flat growth. ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH with 35 IT jobs and Airbus with 23 jobs, recorded a 31.37% decline and an 8% decrease, respectively, while Rolls-Royce recorded a flat growth with 13 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.9%, up by 144.87% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.94% share, registered an increase of 51.61% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.78% share, up 130% over August 2022.
