
The UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 1.5% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.37% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 15.96% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.67% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.67% in October 2022, registering a 3.7% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 19% share, an increase of 58.33% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.67%, registering a 64.71% rise from September 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.33%, up 33.33% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 107.21% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
QinetiQ Group posted 99 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by James Fisher and Sons with 83 jobs and a 7.79% growth. Rolls-Royce with 17 IT jobs and Boeing with 17 jobs, recorded an 183.33% growth and a 30.77% growth, respectively, while Thales recorded a decline of 6.67% with 14 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.67%, up by 42.18% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23% share, registered a decline of 2.82% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.33% share, down 31.25% over September 2022.
