The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.94% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.14% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.23% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.49% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 42.16% in September 2022, registering an 8.79% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 26.94% share, a decrease of 2.03% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.84%, registering a 10.08% decline from August 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.48%, down 11.28% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 6.15% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Raytheon Technologies posted 640 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 28% over the previous month, followed by Northrop Grumman with 631 jobs and a 0.94% drop. General Dynamics with 573 IT jobs and The Boeing with 414 jobs, recorded a 10.4% growth and a 9.41% decrease, respectively, while Huntington Ingalls Industries recorded an increase of 1.52% with 333 job postings during September 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 43.6%, down by 9.45% from August 2022. Junior Level positions with a 36.24% share, registered a decline of 11.3% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.65% share, up 4.57% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.3%, recording a month-on-month decline of 31.58%.
