
Alion Science and Technology has secured a $59m contract to support the enhancement of weapons systems for the US Navy Warfare Development Command (NWDC).
Under the contract, Alion will implement advanced threats for weapon system research and development for the NWDC Red Cell, information operations cell and electromagnetic manoeuvre warfare cell.
Alion Cyber Network Solutions Group senior vice-president and general manager Katie Selbe said: “With a dedicated full-time team, Alion will continue delivering ideas for warfighters through analysis and development of innovative solutions for operational challenges.

The company will be responsible for providing engineering research, analysis, identification of requirements, planning, scheduling and the delivery of software and concept development to improve the weapons systems representations and assist wargaming exercises and experimentation.
Alion will specifically work in the fields of advanced Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS)-dependent, IRC-related weapons systems, and OPFOR platforms (e.g. C4ISR systems and C4I systems.
The contract was awarded under the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s (DoD IAC) multiple-award contract (MAC) vehicle.
The US Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC) awards these DoD IAC MAC task orders through a competitive processes.
Recently, Alion won a $75m contract to support all Navy Minotaur software platforms for key naval commands.
