Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) Mission Technologies division has secured a $147m contract aimed at bolstering combat training services for the US Navy.

This contract was obtained under the SeaPort Next Generation multiple award contract indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity vehicle.

Over the span of five years, HII will deliver engineering support for the US Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity’s (NSWCDD DNA) training systems.

This support will encompass all related hardware, software, subsystems, and components.

The contract will cover several tasks, ranging from the installation and certification of integrated training system hardware and software to system testing, troubleshooting, repair, and lifecycle maintenance.

The work stipulated by the contract will be conducted across various locations within the US and internationally.

Mission Technologies’ global security group president Michael Lempke said: “Providing full-cycle support for US Navy, joint, coalition and Department of Defense training systems requires a seamless, well-orchestrated approach and close collaboration with the Navy customer to make sure we’re providing the best quality service possible.

“We look forward to expanding our relationship with NSWCDD DNA and ensuring our military fleets remain mission-ready through warfare systems superiority.”

In 2023, HII was awarded a $41m contract for shipboard and shore-based Integrated Training Systems Installation and Sustainment (ITSIS) for the US Navy.

The Mission Technologies division was tasked with the development of the ITSIS system, with the project including a one-year base period with the option of a six-month extension.

HII supports the US naval fleet, with operations extending to numerous bases and operational theatres around the globe.
