Mikros Systems has secured a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract to provide facility health monitoring and prioritisation services for the US Navy Buildings.
This $200,000 contract is a joint SBIR solicitation from NAVSEA Naval Shipyards, NAVAIR Fleet Readiness Centers (FRC), and USMC Logistics Command (MARCORLOGCOM).
Under the terms of the contract, Mikros Systems will develop a solution to gather data from critical building infrastructure systems, including HVAC, mechanical systems, communication systems, chillers, pumps, electrical switchgear, seismometers, and surveillance systems.
The solution will also monitor energy usage data, water level data, and other critical infrastructure systems data.
The objective of the first phase of SBIR is to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed solution. The company will develop only a limited scale system to illustrate the concept.
Mikros Systems lead engineer Jeffry McClenton said: “This new award complements the Mikros MindR system, which was developed for commercial building management applications.”
