The US Navy has awarded a new cost-plus, fixed-fee maintenance services contract to global infrastructure firm AECOM, which has been valued at roughly $177.5m.
The company will provide maintenance service to the Fleet Readiness Center Aviation Support Equipment sites of the US Navy’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) in Lakehurst, New Jersey under the agreement.

The contract includes a base period of one year, with four additional one-year options and a further six-month option.
AECOM will be required to offer maintenance services such as integrated support equipment maintenance repair and overhaul services, in order to reduce repair cycle time and optimise availability of ready-for-use support equipment in the US Navy’s fleet, as well as at Fleet Readiness Center Aviation Support Equipment sites.
Additionally, the company will continue its current maintenance work supporting the US Navy mission at Solomons Island, El Centro, California; Maryland; North Island, California; Portsmouth, Virginia, and Jacksonville, Florida.
AECOM is also expected to carry on providing maintenance services at the US Navy sites in Cherry Point, North Carolina; Beaufort, South Carolina; New Orleans, Louisiana; Comalapa, El Salvador; Cheatham Annex, Virginia; Fort Worth, Texas; Whidbey Island, Washington, and Futenma, Japan.

NAWCAD Lakehurst at Joint Base McGuire / Dix / Lakehurst (MDL) is responsible for managing and ensuring the proper aircraft launch and recovery equipment.
It also ensures that other support equipment is in place to support fixed and vertical wing aircraft operations from aircraft carriers, air capable vessels and expeditionary airfields worldwide.
