US-based company KBR’s global government service business KBRwyle has secured a base operating support services (BOSS) contract, worth $91m, to support the US Navy in Bahrain.
Awarded by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic, the deal is the latest in a series of BOSS contracts awarded to KBRwyle, which includes two contracts estimated at $956m supporting the navy bases in Diego Garcia and Djibouti.
Under the deal, KBRwyle will be responsible for providing support services at several locations within the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The services to be delivered by the company cover galley, housing, custodial, pest control, waste management, unarmed security force protection, grounds and landscaping, utilities, equipment maintenance and dispatch, personnel movement and material handling.
If all option years are exercised, work on the project is expected to be carried out over the next eight years.
KBRwyle president Byron Bright said: “KBRwyle's combined capabilities and expertise in delivering services at remote locations has provided us with the opportunity to continue to serve our military while expanding our core business portfolio in the long-term.
