The US Navy has awarded a new contract to consulting and engineering services provider Tetra Tech EC for the provision of environmental remediation services for radiological contaminants (RADMAC II) at several navy and US Marine Corps sites.
Tetra Tech EC is one of the six firms chosen by the US Navy for the $240m multiple-award contract.
The company will perform radiological investigations, surveys and sampling analysis, pilot and treatability studies, operations and maintenance, remediation, and other related activities associated with returning sites to safe use as part of the new deal.
Tetra Tech chairman and chief executive officer Dan Batrack said: “Tetra Tech has supported the US Navy for over four decades, and specifically NAVFAC Southwest, in remediation of radiological contaminants for more than 12 years.
“We are pleased to continue this longstanding partnership with the US Navy to support its critical environmental restoration efforts.”
RADMAC II is a follow-on contract from RADMAC I, and is set to focus on restoration projects at a number of radiologically contaminated sites.
