Science Applications International Corp (SAIC) has secured a $116m contract from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific to continue to provide engineering services for the US Navy’s afloat and ashore assets.

The scope of the deal covers the supply of management, engineering, technical and integrated logistics support services for the Navy’s Tactical Networks In-Service Engineering Activity (TACNET ISEA).

Configuration management assistance will also be provided as part of the arrangement.

The contract will initially be valid for a period of three years and includes an optional two-year extension.

Should SAIC choose to exercise the extension option, the contract value will increase to an estimated $196m.

The company will carry out most of the work in San Diego, California, and Norfolk, Virginia, while a portion of the work is also set to be undertaken on-board the navy ships and at shore sites worldwide.

TACNET ISEA is intended to ensure that the navy’s networks are able to perform in accordance with designed specifications.

TACNET ISEA sustains fielded solutions through end-of-life replacement, system upgrades and follow-on works, as well as developments related to interrelated systems.

It also handles distant support, on-site repair, installations and system analysis operations.
