The Formidable-class frigate RSS Supreme of the Republic of Singapore Navy took part in a Multinational Group Sail (MNGS) from 1 to 11 August in the Pacific Ocean.
The MNGS was joined by five other naval ships from Australia, Brunei, Japan and the US.
RSS Supreme exercised with Anzac-class frigate HMAS Stuart and support ship HMAS Sirius of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
Other ships that took part in the exercise were the Darussalam-class Offshore Patrol Vessel KDB Darulehsan of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Atago-class destroyer JS Ashigara of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), and Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Rafael Peralta of US Navy.
The naval ships carried out several drills during the transition from Guam to Hawaii, where a component of the sail was led by RSS Supreme.
This included manoeuvring and communication exercises. Exercise planning was done with virtually no physical contact.

By GlobalDataThe Formidable-class frigate is en route to Hawaii to participate in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise.
The biennial Exercise RIMPAC is hosted by the US Navy and will be carried out in the waters off Hawaii from 17 to 31 August.
In a statement, Singapore’s Ministry of Defence said: “This is the seventh time that the RSN will be participating in the world’s largest international maritime exercise, and the RSN will be undertaking the role of commander of a task group during the exercise.
“The multilateral exercise RIMPAC and the MNGS are important avenues for the RSN to hone its competencies and strengthen interoperability and professional ties with other navies.”
The RSS Supreme crew tested negative for coronavirus (Covid-19) before their deployment.
This January, the RSN commissioned three of its newest Independence-class littoral mission vessels (LMVs) at Tuas Naval Base.
