US-based company Sparton has secured a new contract for the delivery of ruggedised flat panel displays for a programme supporting the US Navy.
Sparton is a major provider of ruggedised displays, computers and peripheral units under its brand Aydin Displays.

The new contract is valued at more than $13m and has been awarded by BAE Systems.
Sparton Engineered Components and Products Segment group vice-president Jim Lackemacher said: “We are extremely pleased to be continuing our work with BAE Systems by providing product capabilities that meet or exceed its customer requirements.
“More importantly, to provide the company with the performance, quality and value of our products to help meet the critical mission needs for our customers.”
Aydin Displays is expected to supply more than 600 flat panel displays over a two-and-a-half-year period under the arrangement.
BAE Systems Tactical Systems director Donna Linke-Klein said: “Our suppliers help us meet the commitments we make to our customers, and it is essential those relationships are strong so that we can deliver value.
“Our mission computing and display products have been leading the industry in computing capacity and reliability for more than 40 years, and we couldn’t achieve that mission without our supply base.”
The Aydin Displays brand delivers a wide range of defence / military LCD displays that are designed to function in some of the harshest military environments and scenarios, including land, air and on water.
Sparton’s wholly owned subsidiary, Sparton Aydin, originally acquired Aydin Displays in August 2013.
