Kratos Defense & Security Solutions‘ Defense & Rocket Support Services (DRSS) division has been contracted by the US Naval Surface Warfare Center to provide technical support on a range of experimental, test and other support missions.
Under the $5.49m contract, Kratos will deliver a number of Oriole thrust vector control (TVC) systems to Naval Surface Warfare Center’s division in Port Hueneme.
The Oriole TVC system is claimed to provide increased capability and dispersion reduction for Kratos’ Oriole solid propellant rocket motor.
Kratos rocket support services vice-president Joshua Peterson said: “Kratos is committed to providing low cost, highly capable systems to our government customers for ballistic missile defence system testing and hypersonic research.”
DRSS provides products, solutions and services in support of ballistic missile defence, hypersonic, directed energy, electromagnetic rail gun, weapon system, and other national security related systems.
Kratos recently secured a $21.4m indefinite-delivery / indefinite-quantity, cost-reimbursement contract from the US Navy to provide technical support on a range of activities for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific division (Code 552).
