Under the four-year contract, Babcock will deliver a wide range of electrical and electronic components, from simple resistors to circuit boards and search lamps, totalling in excess of 15,000 different items.
Babcock business development director John Stratton said: "It has a clear bearing on support to operations and we look forward to applying our experience and proven track record in delivering consistently to time and quality, directly supporting the MoD."
Last month, the company received a contract from the MoD to support the Shaman infrastructure and support contract, which involves the deployment of the Shaman shipborne maritime communications electronic support measures (CESM) system and infrastructure.
The seven-year agreement included infrastructure upgrades to the current CESM shore-support locations at the fleet intelligence centre and maritime CESM calibration facility, as well as contractor logistic support to the Shaman system, which is deployed on Type 45 destroyers.
Under previous contracts, Babcock is also offering and managing all capital spares and repairs, and related training rigs for the weapon handling and launch system and submerged signal ejector equipment, which are deployed on the Royal Navy’s operational submarines.
