Boeing has been awarded a firm-fixed-price order for the procurement of 964 combat survivor evader locator system handheld radio sets.

The order was awarded through the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule and also includes 1,928 rechargeable batteries and 80 radio set adapters.

The radio sets will provide multiple communication options for search and rescue missions.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Huntington Beach, California, US, and is expected to be completed in February 2012.

The US Naval Air Systems Command will be the contracting activity.
