The Russian Navy Northern Fleet destroyer, Admiral Chabanenko and rescue tug Shakhter will participate in the FRUKUS 2011 exercise, which are underway in the North Atlantic off the east coast of the US.

The Udaloy II Class destroyer will take part in the joint naval drills alongside Nato warships involving France, the UK and the US to practice interoperability for future joint anti-piracy operations.
The annual naval drills include joint manoeuvring, repelling attacks of fast-speed boats, boarding operations, and helicopter landings, according to RIA Novosti.
Admiral Chabanenko has been deployed on anti-piracy patrolling in the Gulf of Aden and has even successfully accompanied several commercial convoys through pirate-infested waters off the Somali coast.
Other warships taking part in the exercise include Commander Carrier Strike Group 10, Destroyer Squadron 26, and USS James E. Williams (DDG 95), FS Ventose (F 733) and HMS Dauntless (D 33).
