The additional SEK108m ($15.4m) order will provide the vessels with the ability to detect and track low radar cross section targets above water.
The modified Sea Giraffe 150 HC will increase performance in high-clutter environments such as littorals, as well as align the radar to the latest generation of Sea Giraffe AMBs.
The radar upgrade is part of a larger combat systems integration contract, awarded to Lockheed Martin Canada in 2008.
Saab Microwave Canada will provide additional support services for the Canadian Navy as part of the terms of the order.
Deliveries of the upgraded radar are planned for between 2011 and 2016.
