The Russian Navy has successfully test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile from the nuclear submarine Bryansk in the Barents Sea.

The navy has not yet revealed the name of the missile that was test-fired from the submarine, according to barentsobserver.com.

The Northern Fleet nuclear submarine is, however, armed with RSM-54 ‘Sineva’ missiles, which can carry ten 100kT warheads.

Bryansk is one of seven Delta-IV Class nuclear submarines built from 1985 to 1992, of which five submarines have already gone through modernisation at the Zvezdochka shipyard outside Arkhangelsk, the news service said.
