The US has awarded a $32m task order to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to provide counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) training support to the navy.

Under the three-year contract, the company will support the navy’s tactical command and control (C2) division by providing marines with C-IED tactical training support and instructions on how to diffuse road-side bombs.
SAIC will also provide logistical and documentation support to the division’s evaluation and assessment team, the US Marine Corps Training and Education Command, and Engineer Training and Education Center of Excellence.
The company will carry out the work at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina and Camp Pendleton, Twentynine Palms and Bridgeport, all in California.
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic has awarded the task order under the US Navy’s SeaPort-e contract.
