FarSounder Inc has been selected to supply its FarSounder-1000 long-range sonar for the Royal New Zealand Navy’s (RNZN) future fleet replenishment tanker, HMNZS Aotearoa (A12).
The sonar is intended to provide real-time 3D data to enhance survivability and security for the ship’s crew, as well as assist the ship’s operation in disaster zones.

Saab has been awarded a contract by Luerssen Australia to provide situational awareness and surveillance systems for a new fleet of 12 offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
Saab Australia is set to equip the OPVs with the EOS-500 lightweight electro-optical fire control director, in addition to a situational awareness system based on the 9LV combat management solution in order to provide consistent situational awareness and mission management capabilities.
The deal is expected to support the creation of up to 50 direct jobs.
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has secured a $73m task order to provide support services to the US Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR).
The deal will see SAIC provide architecture and systems engineering support, and interoperability assessments and technical management services, as well as configuration management support for the fleet readiness directorate (FRD), various C4ISR programmes and selected offices.
The order comprises a one-year base period with four one-year options.
Serco Inc has secured a contract worth $135.84m to provide support for the US Navy’s Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection (AT / FP) naval electronic surveillance systems (ESS).
The company will provide lifecycle sustainment, integration and acquisition support services for a variety of government agencies under the AT / FP naval ESS contract.
The deal was awarded by the US Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) and has one-year base period with a two-year extension option.
Work under the contract will be performed at various locations worldwide until April 2021.
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co has secured a $10.89m contract modification from the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to sustain flight test software for the F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter aircraft.
The sustainment services to be provided under the deal include ground maintenance and depot activation activities, action request resolution, operation and maintenance of the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), and supply chain management.
