The US Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) has awarded a $630.5m logistics support contract to General Electric (GE).
The deal will see the company provide performance-based logistics services such as repair, replacement and programme support for 773 F414 engine components installed on the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet and EA 18G Growler aircraft.

Lockheed Martin Corporation has been awarded a contract for the low-rate initial production Lot 11 of F-35 Lightning II stealth multi-role fighter aircraft.
The $171.71m contract is a modification to a previous deal that was awarded by the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).
Lockheed is set to procure diminishing manufacturing sources redesigns for the F-35 Lightning II Lot 11 as part of the modified contract.
Work under the agreement is slated to be carried out in Fort Worth, Texas, until January 2024.
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has received a $116m engineering services contract from the US Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific.
SAIC will provide engineering, technical, management and integrated logistics support to the US Navy’s Tactical Networks In-Service Engineering Activity (TACNET ISEA) under the arrangement.
The contract will enable TACNET ISEA to repair, maintain, sustain and ensure the fleet readiness of the US Navy’s fielded afloat and ashore assets.
The deal has a base period of three years and a two-year option period.
Work under the contract will be performed in San Diego, California, and Norfolk, Virginia, in addition to on-board the US Navy ships themselves and at shore sites worldwide.
Saab has secured an order to supply its Sea Giraffe AMB multi-mode radar (MMR) and 9LV naval combat system to the US Navy.
Both the Sea Giraffe AMB radar and 9LV combat system will be installed on-board the US Navy’s Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) class ship, USNS Hershel ‘Woody’ Williams (ESB 4).
The 9LV system will be used to control the Sea Giraffe AMB radar and display mission information in order to provide enhanced situational awareness and identification friend or foe (IFF) capabilities.
Work under the deal will be performed in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Syracuse, New York, US, until 2020.
The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) has filed a $70m foreign military sale (FMS) request for follow-on technical support (FOTS) for the Royal Bahrain Navy’s RBNS Sabha (FFG-90).
The BDF is set to purchase items, along with engineering and technical services, from the US in support of FOTS for the FFG-90 under the proposed FMS.
In addition, the sale also includes the provision of logistics services, modification material and documentation for various systems and equipment supplied by the US Navy.
