The US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded a contract worth $5.1bn to Huntington Ingalls Industries for construction of six DDG 51-class guided missile destroyers.

The Ministry of Defence of the UK has signed deals worth £1bn ($1.31bn) with Cammell Laird, A&P Falmouth, and UK Docks Ltd. to support the operations of 17 naval vessels over a period of ten years.

Contractors will deliver support services for the naval ships of the Royal Navy’s Survey and Hydrographic division and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA).

The deals are expected to support approximately 700 jobs for locals and bring estimated revenue savings of £100m ($131.7m) for defence.

The US Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) has awarded a contract worth $93m to SRC Inc for the AN/TPQ-49A Lightweight Counter Mortar Radar System.

The company will be responsible for the programme management, initial/sustainment spares provisioning, system refresh kit fitment, new system production, testing, and new equipment training.

Works will be carried out in North Syracuse, New York, Tobyhanna Army Depot, Pennsylvania, and other unspecified locations outside the US.
