As per the terms of the contract, CAES will deliver its Phased Array Antennas, which will support Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Off-Board Electronic Warfare (AOEW) system.
CAES president and CEO Mike Kahn said: “We’re honoured to continue our work with Lockheed Martin to bring critical electronic warfare capabilities to the US Navy.”
“Our unique combination of longstanding RF experience and next generation electronic warfare technology allows us to continue to be a trusted partner of choice.”
The AOEW programme provides electronic surveillance and attack capabilities for US Navy Ships.
The AOEW system comes with the capability to work either independently or with the vessel’s onboard electronic surveillance sensor, AN/SLQ-32(V)6.
CAES’ antennas provide a high sensitivity receive surveillance and an electronic attack (EA) transmit ability to the AOEW system.
This latest announcement comes after the Low Rate Initial Production Phase 1 (LRIP1) contract awarded to CAES earlier this year.
As per this contract, CAES was required to supply phased array antennas to AOEW system.
In 2019, the AOEW system qualified the US Navy’s preliminary design review for its integration with the MH-60 helicopters.
In December 2022, Lockheed Martin announced collaboration with Palantir Technologies to deliver modern software to support combat systems for current and future requirements of the US Navy.
Under this collaboration, Lockheed’s technical experience will be leveraged along with Palantir‘s Apollo platform.
