Evans Capacitor has been selected as the Small Business Subcontractor of the Year for 2018 by the US Small Business Administration.
Evans Capacitor develops and manufactures high-power, high-energy density capacitors for defence and aerospace systems. Evans products are specified where size, weight, and power (SWaP) are critical constraints.
Evans was nominated for this prestigious award by Lockheed Martin. Evans was named a Platinum Preferred Supplier to LMCo, Missiles and Fire Control in 2009 and has participated in a number of programmes as supplier and subcontractor to LMCo, MFC, as well as other Lockheed Martin divisions. Evans provides unique capacitor solutions to all tier 1 and tier 2 defence contractors, as well as to commercial aerospace, energy exploration, and other specialty markets worldwide.
Evans Capacitor Company was founded in 1996 to pursue unique capacitor technology developed by David Evans. Mr Evans has over 20 patents related to capacitor technologies over the past 25 years, including the groundbreaking ‘Hybrid’ technology for tantalum wet capacitors. These EVANSCAPS utilise tantalum pentoxide anodes combined with an RuO2 cathode to provide a very high power density.
Mr Evans’ further developments in component structure and packaging have produced capacitor designs perfectly suited for the environmental and reliability requirements of the defence and aerospace markets. EVANSCAPS unique designs utilise this technology to provide Evans’ customers with enabling solutions to their power needs. Evans participates in many current and future defence programmes such as JSF, E2D, Arrowhead and Patriot, as well as commercial programmes like the B787, ISS and LLNL HAPLS laser.

Evans was presented the Award for Overall Excellence as a small manufacturer by the Providence Business Journal in 2014. In 2006, Evans was the Blue Ribbon Award Winner for the North East Region from the SBA.
