SAES has attended the Global Special Operations Forces (SOF) Symposium as a reference company in naval mines for special operations forces.
The Global SOF Foundation held its fourth European Symposium in Brussels on 1-3 October.
The company has exhibited its MILA Naval Limpet Unit at the event.
MILA is an underwater demolition charge for SOF, which incorporates a computer-controlled detonation system. The unit is used by combat divers in covert underwater operations to neutralise threats.
It is a safe, efficient and lightweight device, easy to transport, deploy and install. Only one diver is required to transport and fix two MILA units. The device can be quickly installed and reprogrammed underwater, even in adverse scenarios such as in low-visibility or in darkness.
MILA is designed for fitting to different types of underwater surfaces, which makes it a very versatile tool for high-demand operations.
Representatives from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Malta, Romania, the UK and the US have attended the Global SOF Symposium.
The head of Belgian Defence, the EU military committee president and the deputy Nato secretary-general also visited in the event.
A variety of topics were discussed during the conference, including military reform and capabilities packages for modern warfare and the role of artificial intelligence in SOF.
