SIGNALIS

Luc Bentolila has joined SIGNALIS as chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director. In his role, Mr Bentolila will be speaker of the management board and will be responsible for sales and marketing, product management, quality, compliance, finance, legal, human resources and general services, among others.

Dr. Thomas Fröhlich, chief operating officer of SIGNALIS, managing director and member of the management board, has welcomed Mr Bentolila to the company. He also paid thanks to Rémi Julien, former CEO of SIGNALIS, for successfully building up the company.

Since being set up two years ago, SIGNALIS has become known as a well-known company, with expertise in maritime solutions. In June 2010, Cassidian (EADS) and ATLAS ELEKTRONIK decided to merge SOFRELOG and ATLAS Maritime Security and create SIGNALIS. Therefore, they tasked SIGNALIS’s management board with handling the merger process.

As speaker of the management board and former CEO of SOFRELOG, Mr Julien managed the set-up of SIGNALIS, building a new holding and defining the strategy of this new maritime safety and security solutions leader.

After two years of growth, over 220 references in more than 50 countries, and more than 210 highly skilled maritime surveillance experts in France, Germany, the Middle East and China, SIGNALIS provides vessel traffic services (VTS) systems, coastal surveillance systems (CSS) and critical infrastructure monitoring solutions for the most demanding ports, waterways and countries.

As SIGNALIS now ends its integration phase and accelerates the development of its business, Mr Julien gives the lead to Mr Bentolila.

With a technical, business administration and management background, Mr Bentolila has already experienced the management of challenging international entities.

In his former position, Mr Bentolila was head of international operations for CASSIDIAN. He joined the EADS group in 1999 and had several positions in international sales, business development and management.

With a first responsibility over subsidiaries and joint ventures, Mr Bentolila developed market footprint in Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal. Then, as senior business development manager, Asia & Pacific, and director, strategic business partners, he developed the commercial telecom activity of EADS in Greater China (PRC, Hong Kong and Taiwan).

From 2004 to 2006, Mr Bentolila was vice president, international business development in charge to develop the C4ISR activities of EADS in the US and Canada. He then stayed in Canada as country manager to develop Cassidian’s presence and activity in the Canadian marketplace.

Having worked in coordination with SIGNALIS’s sales and projects teams in the past, Mr Bentolila already knows the company well, as well as its key shareholders. In addition, he has a good knowledge of SIGNALIS’s main partners.

The whole SIGNALIS workforce will support him in his new position.
