Low-power three-axis MagnetometerBartington Instruments has reduced the cost of its Mag566 compact three-axis low-power magnetometer.

The magnetometer has excellent temperature stability and is ideal for battery-powered applications. Its many uses include orientation control, multi-sensor surveillance arrays, and making measurements in remote locations such as in vehicle detection and identification.

Mag566 is an unpackaged miniature three-axis sensor with a full-scale range of ±100µT and a frequency response of DC to 35Hz. It has a 20mW power consumption, low noise and good temperature stability.

The magnetometer is a good choice for use in multi-sensor arrays due to its low cost. Its unpackaged design is suitable for incorporation into vehicle and industrial plant detection systems, while the low drift characteristics allow the sensor to be used as a terrestrial field monitor or as an orientation sensor.
