Quantum Marine Stabilizers has selected Australian-based Watmarine Engineering (WATMAR) to represent the brand and provide technical services and new equipment sales for Quantum products and systems in Australia.
WATMAR will service and support the Quantum Stabilizer systems on the Australian Navy’s new offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) that are currently being constructed by Luerssen Australia.
WATMAR is a leading provider of engineering products and services, supporting multiple industries, including defence and marine.
The company is well-positioned to assist in the maintenance, service and sales support of military vessels and yachts in Australia.
WATMAR owns facilities in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney. The partnership will significantly enhance Quantum’s ability to provide immediate assistance to its Australian clients.
The high-profile multi-year project will require comprehensive in-region support. The partnership agreement is also in line with the Australian Industry Capabilities Program (AIC) that seeks to provide defence work opportunities for Australian-based companies.
Quantum Marine Stabilizers president and CEO John Allen said: “After interviewing and researching several companies in the Australian region, we concluded that WATMAR mirrors our highly specialised skill set in engineering competencies and capabilities. The local aspect is a major advantage for all of us, especially our clients.”
WATMAR general manager Simon Watson said: “We are very proud to have been selected to represent Quantum in Australia and I think this is indicative of the hard work we have put in over the last few years building our capabilities.
“Quantum has a fantastic range of products and we feel the defence sector is well-positioned to take advantage of the benefits that they deliver.”
Both companies will attend the maritime and naval technology show PACIFIC 2019, which will take place on 8-10 October. Visitors will be able to find the company representatives at booth 3A25.
