Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, a business segment of Northrop Grumman Corp, carries out the design, development, production, integration, sustainment, and modernisation of advanced aircraft systems for the US Air Force, the US Navy, and other US government agencies. These aircraft systems support mission areas such as strike, air dominance, battle management and control, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). Aeronautics Systems operates through two business areas – autonomous systems and manned aircraft. The autonomous systems business area offers unmanned autonomous aircraft systems comprising high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) strategic ISR systems and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) tactical ISR systems. The manned aircraft business area provides strategic long-range strike aircraft, tactical fighter and air dominance aircraft, and airborne battle management and command and control systems.
