Navantia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South African ship building company, Veercraft Marine, to take part in the construction of offshore patrol vessels and inshore patrol vessels for the South African Navy.
The objective is to identify and pursue possible business opportunities for the construction of OPVs and IPVs for the South African Navy.
The two companies will jointly make the necessary efforts to fulfil their role in the construction for the award of the BIRO Project.
This MoU reflects the interest of Navantia in cooperating with the South African Navy, offering the most technologically advanced designs in close collaboration with the local industry.
