After a month of thorough negotiations, Rodman Polyships has reached an agreement with the Asian company China Sonangol, for the construction and supply of 40 high-speed patrol boats and ten passenger catamarans with capacity for 350 people.
Rodman Polyships SAU is a Spanish shipyard dedicated to the construction of all
types of boats in glass reinforced plastic (GRP). The firm has been given a deadline of 21 months to complete construction of the boats.
The shipyard, located in Moaña, Pontevedra, expects to deliver he 40 patrol boats through 2015 and catamarans will be all delivered before May 2016.
The total amount of the order is worth more than €25 million.
Achievement of this new contract reasserts the Rodman Group as a worldwide leader in the naval GPR industry.
All of the professional boats and special crafts built by the Spanish shipyard are highly appreciated by the most demanding private owners and governmental administrations and agencies.
Expertise, technology and building quality were said to be main factors that encouraged China Sonangol to select Rodman as the shipyard for the construction of the boats.
Main technical characteristics:
Rodman 33, High Speed Patrol boat:
These 40 units of the Rodman 33 included in the Sonangol contract will be built right after a previous contract for another 40 units for Saudi Arabian Border Guard in which Rodman has been working through in 2014, and which will be completely delivered by the end of this year.
With a 11.4m length and a 3.4m beam, these new patrol boat models have been entirely developed by the Rodman technical department, reaching the perfect balance among high seas performance, reliability and quality building, no doubt a result of the wide knowledge and expertise of the Rodman Group in these kind of boats.
