Raytheon Anschütz, a business of Raytheon Technology, successfully completed type approval for the new Naval ECDIS NX, making it ready for delivery to newbuild and refit projects. Approval included the new Bridge Alert Management Standard according to the International Maritime Organization resolution IMO.302(87) and related International Electrotechnical Commission standards.
Naval ECDIS NX is designed as a modular WECDIS, or warship electronic chart display and information system for coast guard and patrol boats, naval surface combatants and submarines. It is based on a proven, IMO-compliant ECDIS and enhanced with modular naval and military features according to NATO Standardization Agreement 4564 Ed. 3 for enhanced tactical awareness and operation.
“Naval ECDIS NX completes our portfolio of key navigation systems for commercial and naval ships,” said Björn Schröder, product manager for WECDIS at Raytheon Anschütz. “Our applications are standardised and continuously kept in compliance with IMO standards, share an off-the-shelf system architecture and can be customised to ship and mission by use of software and hardware modules.”
