The multi-million-euro contract has a duration of over three years.
It includes the routine maintenance activities necessary for the operational maintenance (MCO) of Rubis and Suffren-class SSNs.
These activities include engineering services, maintenance of tools and spares, management of the spares stock, training platforms, as well as maintenance of nuclear installations necessary for the MCO of submarines.
Naval Group Services executive vice-president Vincent Martinot-Largarde said: “I would like to thank the French Navy, which has once again placed its trust in us. Naval Group is committed to working alongside its customer on a daily basis and over the long term to ensure the best possible operational availability of its ships.
“Service and technical performance are at the core of this contract. Naval Group guarantees to the French Navy a high level of safety and security as well as a strong technical support capacity.
“Through this contract, the group is also bound to ensure the availability of critical systems of the vessels.”
Naval Group partners TechnicAtome, Thales, and Safran will be involved to supply strategic equipment.
The agreement will also mobilise the local industrial fabric and more than 500 Naval Group employees across several facilities in France.
According to the company, the contract is part of a conversion phase between the gradual withdrawal of Rubis-type submarines and the arrival of the Suffren-type submarines.
