The $142m order also includes parts and support for the mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles.
The MaxxPro recovery vehicle is based on the International WorkStar platform and provides protection to two to three-man crew in retrieving damaged or mission-disabled vehicles and to perform other support missions.
Navistar Defense president Archie Massicotte said, “Many mission types require MRAP survivability protection and that includes warfighters running vehicle recovery and support missions.”
Production of the vehicles will be carried out at the company’s facility in Mississippi, US, with deliveries scheduled to take place in October and November 2011.
